Note Provider Instructions
Instructions
Notes may be uploaded to the SAS Online Portal or note providers can come to the SAS department to manually scan notes. Note providers are compensated in two ways. When the note provider is enrolled in the course, the pay will be for one hour per week for the duration of the semester, for the time it takes the note provider to organize and upload their own class notes into our database. A note provider who is not enrolled in a class for credit is compensated for the duration of the class meeting only. A note provider must agree and commit to provide notes for all class meetings for an entire semester.
Note takers job postings are published on Workday, and students must apply through the Workday portal and have submitted work eligibility documentation prior to starting work.
Note Receivers will click on the Course Notes link and will follow the steps to authenticate and request notes. Once a volunteer registers and is approved, they can begin uploading notes and note-receivers can begin downloading notes. (Only one note provider per course will be assigned).
For questions, please email sas@brown.edu or call SAS at 401-863-9588. SAS is open M-F, 8:30am to 5pm.
To all note providers: Make sure to provide notes after each class and no later than 48 hours after the class. Notes must be uploaded or scanned promptly prior to all exams and finals.
