SAS Awards

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) has four annual awards that recognize students, faculty, and staff who exemplify a culture of inclusion, diversity, and the best in enhancing accessibility at Brown.

The SAS Sarah Volante Facilitator Award is in honor of Brown alum Sarah Volante and her family. This award is given annually to a Brown University administrator or staff member who has demonstrated exceptional awareness, inclusiveness, and support for students with disabilities.

The SAS Access Ambassador Award is given annually to a Brown University faculty member who has demonstrated exceptional awareness, inclusiveness, and support for students with disabilities in fulfilling Brown University’s academic mission.

The SAS Student Advocacy Award is given annually to a student who has demonstrated strong self-advocacy skills or who has effectively advocated for greater awareness and understanding of students with disabilities.

The SAS Odyssey Award is given annually to a student who, in their Brown journey, has demonstrated dedication, determination, and perseverance in the pursuit of achieving a Brown University education.

The Collaborative Partner Awards are selected by the dedicated staff members of SAS, in recognition of exceptional and innovative collaborations that significantly contribute to expanding opportunities and enhancing the impact of SAS.
